We're looking for a super-organised Managing Editor to join our fast-growing UK team. The successful candidate will have experience working at a professional news organization, excellent communication skills, and be obsessed not only with shaping a formidably efficient editorial process, but also figuring out how to make ideas spread like wildfire on the social web.

The role is based in our London office, and we offer competitive salary and a stock option program.

Responsibilities

*Ensure the UK editorial operation runs like clockwork focusing on workflow, organisational structure, strategy and running change projects

*Manage and facilitate communication between departments especially the commercial and creative teams

*Write and produce posts that people will want to share

*Manage editorial budget, freelancer commissions and payments

*Ability to work in a collaborative environment and lead collaborative projects

*Own the editorial forward-planning calendar

 

Requirements

*Significant experience working for a professional news organization or large website

*Outstanding people management and organisation skills

*A genuine love for and excitement about the internet.  

 

Desirable

*Writing ability: you may be expected to write posts
