Google’s distortion of reality + Upcoming HR events + Gender Equality

I’ve got some useful articles and events for you below, but first, a little rant.
An advanced technology has landed, and I’m thinkin’ the human race is nearing the cliff.
Call me a “Scrooge,” but Google’s new A.I. innovation promises to make robot conversations sound perfectly human.
Collectively we know what it’s like to wonder if an email is authentic or generated artificially to grab our attention. I’ve shipped many a mail merge myself (#sorry). So, we’ve gotten used to that, even though we don’t particularly love it. Now, we won’t know who’s real or fake over the phone. Imagine what cold calls or phone screens will be like when fully automated with A.I.
Super efficient. Completely non-human.
What’s next? Isn’t it obvious? Soon, we won’t know if the person right in front of us is real or fake. Imagine those implications on marriage, friendships, group activities, etc.
Meditate on that for a moment.
In other news! This week I attended an excellent conference hosted by Bloomberg called the Equality Summit, featuring the likes of Ashley Judd, Chelsea Clinton, and Alicia Garza, founder of Black Lives Matter.
