Casper is teaming with Uber to bring their mattresses right to your door
A fleet of vans outfitted with mattresses will roam Manhattan, Brooklyn, and Queens this Labor Day Weekend, looking for anybody who’s interested.
While that may sound like some hazy 70s flashback, the vans are merely a promotional stunt from digital-age mattress startup Casper, in partnership with Uber.
Each “Casper Bedmobile” will carry a full line of mattresses; some will feature faux-bedroom sets, allowing users to give the beds a test drive, as it were, and purchase a mattress then and there. Request a Bedmobile from Uber anytime from 9 am to 9 pm, and they’ll be at your door in under an hour.
“The genesis of the idea came from the fact that people hate going to a mattress showroom,” CEO and cofounder Philip Krim told us. “What if we could bring the showroom to you? We’re really excited to test it in New York City and then continue rolling it out across the country.”
We first met with Casper in April, when the company first launched. After selling out of their entire stock on the first day, Casper’s business has not slowed; they also raised a $13.1 million Series A earlier this month.
