LA Uncubed brings jobs to the beach

Once, a beach house conjured visions of bathing beauties, swelligant cocktails, and pristine luxury. And then “Jersey Shore” happened – and beach house turned into a byword for juiceheads, drunken brawls, and chlamydia. Thankfully, Uncubed is here to bring some glamor back to the beach house.

Next Thursday, January 31, the massive startup hiring event is bringing its unique brand of jobs, speakers, music, art, and booze (for the 21+ set) to Los Angeles. Doors open to the Annenberg Community Beach House at 1pm – prepare for a full day ahead.

Among the 30+ companies attending LA Uncubed, and looking to hire, are SkyDrive, SpaceX, Intent Media, InstaCanvas, Grindr, and Carbon Five. They’ll all have booths staffed by founders, CEO’s, CTO’s, and other key players.

But it’s not just about the jobs. LA Uncubed will also host some of the most influential people in the LA tech sector for panels and talks. Some of our speakers include Avesta Rasouli, founder of Coloft; Mike Jones, CEO of Science and former CEO of MySpace; Matt Munson, founder and CEO of Instacanvas; and entrepreneur/author Patrick Vlaskovitz.

For a full roster and tickets, visit the official site here. And the faithful readers of Wakefield are getting 25% off the cost of admission. Just use the code WAKEFIELD25 when checking out – but move fast, because tickets are very nearly sold out.

Now go forth (and get some sun).
