If you enjoyed the last few days of sweltering city heat, then you’re sure to love this summer! The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration released its 2016 summer outlook and it’s likely that New York has a few sauna-like months ahead.

Say what you will about Humans of New York, the emo-industrial complex created by photographer Brandon Stanton, but it’s hard to deny his social media skills aren’t being put to good use. His most recent fundraising efforts for Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center’s pediatric cancer patients have managed to raise over $3.8 million in just 22 days. New Newark
Audible’s CEO and founder Don Katz is betting on Newark. His newly launched Newark Venture Partners is raising $50 million to transform the troubled city “as a pioneering innovation zone and ultra-bandwidth tech center.” An accelerator program, also newly launched, is currently accepting applications.
