New York’s ALICE is giving hotel guests mobile control of their room

Now there's an app for that.

Guest Practices

We’re big fans of those bizarre television stations that air in hotels – you know them, featuring local theme parks and tours of the hotel restaurants.

Turns out there’s an easier way to discover all that your hotel has to offer – using New York’s ALICE app.

Their mobile app allows hotel guests to access concierge and guest services from their smartphone – everything from a massage to a private plane. It also offers hotel managements a single platform from which to manage thousands of units, if not more.

Founded in 2013, they’ve already partnered with an international lineup of hotels, including The Gansevoort Hotel Group, Standard Hotels, and Bespoke Hotels. And in February, the company announced $3 million in seed financing. But here’s the best part – they were only looking to raise $750,000.

“In two years, we’ve become extremely big with about 25 partners,” ALICE President and cofounder Alex Shashou said. “…The idea is to build that one solution for the entire hotel. And that’s a pain point that they’ve experienced: From an ownership level, if you’re running 100 hotels, 1,000 hotels, it’s a very hard operation to manage if you’re having to use five different systems to find out what’s happening on a property-by-property level.”

There are currently 12 openings at Alice’s Union Square office, in everything from development, design, and sales. Get all the details here.

Now go forth (and ask Alice).
