Analytics Strategy Consultant - Financial Services Industry

Here’s what you need:

  • At least 3 years’ experience using model development, documentation, validation, implementation, integration and automation to analyze subjects like:

    • Credit

    • Markets

    • Liquidity

    • Operational risk

  • Experience analyzing retail, commercial, or Capital Markets portfolios, including:

    • Commercial lending

    • Asset-based lending

    • Treasury services and investment banking 

  • Up-to-date knowledge of changes in regulating risk, and practices like:

    • CCAR

    • DFAST

    • Internal capital reporting

    • Capital planning

    • Risk Weighted Assets

    • CECL

  • Hands-on work with things like:

    • Back testing

    • Stress testing

    • Sensitivity testing

    • Benchmarking

    • Capital calculations

    • Reporting standards

  • On-the-job experience with SAS Python or R

  • Expertise with analytical tools like as SQL, C++, VBA, Murex, Calypso or Numerix 

  • Familiarity with credit and market risk models like CVA, ALLL, PD/LGD, Roll Rate, VAR, SVAR

  • Knowledge of multivariate regression models, transition matrices, stochastic processes, econometric models, neural networks or Monte Carlo for example


Bonus points if:

  • You’ve worked in a universal/wholesale bank or rating agency on model risk/development

  • You’ve worked with a management consultancy on risk analytics for financial services clients

  • You’ve can make data jump through hoops (that is, you know how to extract, combine and organize large amounts data for analysis)  

  • You’ve taken projects from defining the scope to delivering a final product
  • You’re as good with clients as you are with tech

You understand the basics of insurance, wholesale and retail lending, and deposits
