We’re looking for smart, driven individuals to join our Accounting team. The group is responsible for
maintaining the company’s accounting ledger, financial reporting, daily accounting operations, and
internal controls. This role will focus on technical accounting and will report to the Technical Accounting
Manager. The ideal candidate will have strong interpersonal and leadership skills with a developing
technical accounting competency. We love discovering, learning, and resolving complicated technical
accounting issues, so we’re looking for a new teammate who loves hard problems too.
What You'll Do
Assist in reconciliation and documentation of internally developed loan accounting ledger
Conduct research of accounting standards and authoritative guidance for new transactions
Draft memos, financial statement disclosures, and user-friendly documentation for use internally and externally
Review product specs and advise on accounting impact of product changes, relating primarily to loan accounting and revenue
Assist in annual financial audit (06/30 year-end)
Coordinate and track tax filings; work with third party tax provider to review tax issues for new products or relationships
Record journal entries and perform regular reconciliations relating to loan accounting, revenue, allowance, equity, loan sales, debt, tax, and other areas
Provide support for special requests related to external partnerships, acquisitions, or other ad hoc transactions
What We Look For
Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance, or equivalent experience
CPA (or equivalent) required
Cumulative accounting experience of 4+ years
Previous experience in a startup or corporate role
Strong analytical, research, problem-solving and critical thinking skills
Exemplifies curiosity, determination, an eye for detail, and enjoyment of unraveling complex technical issues
Can balance a full schedule of meetings and individual work, with effective cross-functional communication and expectation-setting
Big 4 experience preferred
Previous experience working directly with product managers or engineers is a plus
Financial services or fintech accounting background is a plus
