As Airbnb Experiences continue to grow, we are seeking a seasoned researcher to help shape these unique transformational experiences. Through. In 2019, Airbnb Experiences is going deep into special communities with dedicated teams to build out “categories” of experiences, like concerts, surfing, social impact, adventures—even animals. The Experience Researcher will lead the charge, building out our practice in LA and defining the long-term vision for categories with other leadership.

Role & Responsibilities
The Experience Researcher will report to the Experiences Research Manager and be based in Los Angeles. You will be responsible for proactive collaboration, fast-paced concept testing, and leveraging research strategies for global research representation in order to build out the future of Airbnb Experiences.
Lead research across a spectrum from foundational and exploratory to quick and iterative to develop and guide category creation and launches
Support other cross-functional partners in diverse research needs including Marketing, Operations, and Product overseeing already launched categories (including guiding future strategy, opportunities and product work for Airbnb Adventures), new product initiatives or partnerships
Maintain multiple research work streams across multiple categories/focus areas
Institute a research and team culture in our Los Angeles office; set a strong foundation of proactive, collaborative research across a range of partners with a variety of past exposure to research
BS. or Masters in Human-Computer Interaction, Sociology, Psychology, Information Science, Computer Science (or similar), or equivalent experience
5+ years of industry experience
Experience with qualitative and quantitative data collection, analysis, and synthesis
Ability to work in a high-paced environment and create results quickly and with little guidance
Passion for Airbnb’s mission and deep empathy for our diverse community
Willingness for occasional travel to San Francisco, and global travel as needed for conducting research
