A quick snapshot…
Merchandise Lifecycle Management (MLM) is one of two major suites of applications that Aptos builds and sells, containing solutions such as Assortment Planning, Product Lifecycle Management, and Analytics. These solutions are used by retailers large and small around the globe. The VP of MLM Development is responsible for leading all resources building those solutions and building strong ties of collaboration between other peers and teams inside of development, as well as other departments like sales, services, and support.
Why it’s a big deal...
The MLM suite is a critical piece of the company’s short- and long-term strategy, and this role has a large responsibility for ensuring that the teams building the product perform at optimal efficiency in order to continue to allow Aptos to increase market share with these solutions.
Are you the person we’re looking for?
Experienced product development leader. Let’s cut to the chase, this is a must. Sure, you know what it takes to deliver a product -- to present customers with solutions that take their businesses to the next level -- and to manage the various steps along the way. But your ability to do this while also building strong, productive, happy teams is what sets you apart from the rest. Be prepared to share your leadership experiences -- we’re looking forward to hearing them!
Dynamic talent manager: We touched on this in the previous paragraph -- now let us elaborate. Helping your colleagues and managers grow in their careers is just as much your passion as it is theirs. And you’ve had great success leading large development organizations across multiple geographies, while recognizing and adhering to local cultures and norms. You’re a coach, a team player, and your colleague’s number one fan. And you love it.
Strong executive presence. Your confidence stems from your experience and knowledge -- you not only keep up with C-level discussions, you effectively lead and influence them. You are self-aware and completely in-check with your emotions. You are skilled at reading and adapting to different communication styles. When you speak you are clear and concise. Your body language is consistently in sync with your words and your strong listening skills foster connection with your audience. In a single word: charismatic.
Proven success in the product development world. You have worked your way through a variety of development roles and are savvy with the methodologies, processes and tools required to deliver exceptional products. You have a proven track record of delivering enterprise software using an agile methodology, with resources that work out of multiple locations and time zones.
Fun and witty in nature. The development team is a lively bunch -- so we’re looking for someone who can keep up! The sense of humor is strong with this crowd. Be prepared for Nerf gun wars, camaraderie and daily laughter.
