As a Senior Project Manager in Aptos’ professional services organization, you’ll deliver retail implementation projects on time, on budget and to the agreed upon scope to ensure project success. This is a client facing role, so you’ll also be playing a key role in delivering an exceptional customer experience.

Are you the person we’re looking for?
Proven experience in project management. This one’s important. You have successfully planned, organized, led and monitored activities of project teams. You’ve maintained overall control of the schedule, budget and scope, and ensured project plans and work products are based on approved, agreed-upon requirements. You ensure resources and funding are available for executing all project activities. You’re also no stranger to preparing management deliverables (project plans, project change requests and project lists) and using these deliverables to conduct the Project.
Client-facing skills and experience. This is also a must. It’s important that you genuinely enjoy working with clients and building relationships with them. It’s not enough to simply be nice to others or enjoy working with others -- the right person will be truly interested in getting to know our projects and our clients’ teams in an effort to provide the highest levels of service and support.
Strong communication skills. You’re completely comfortable engaging in collaborative (and sometimes difficult) discussions. You’re skilled at reading and adapting to different communication styles. When you speak you are clear and concise and, most importantly, transparent. Your strong listening skills foster connection with your audience. You’re accustomed to notifying the client project director and client project manager of non-resolvable issues and submitting recommendations to resolve them. You maintain regular contact with our clients’ project managers, as well, providing updates of project progress and answering any related questions.
Documentation skills. You know better than anyone that good tools are only effective if they’re used correctly. You have experience tracking the status of deliverables, project change requests and outstanding issues. You’ve ensured that any commitments and subsequent changes are negotiated with affected groups -- and that the appropriate documents and project work plans are updated to reflect changes in requirements and commitments.
Here’s what will give you an edge…
Related experience and skills. Of course, prior experience as a project manager in a retail software environment is a huge plus -- as is PMP certification.
You love troubleshooting. Seriously. You’re savvy and can easily understand that successful projects require successful problem-solving skills. You ensure problems are dealt with promptly and resolved effectively.
