A quick snapshot….

As a Solution Architect you will provide high quality functional and technical consultancy to Aptos clients across multiple product groups in the area of commerce platforms.

The ideal candidate is a passionate Solution Architect who is capable of delivering innovative enterprise solutions to our customers in an international context, and who enjoys mastering and working with new and emerging technologies.

Our current technology stack includes Typescript/JavaScript, polyglot storage solutions and React/ React Native on the client side, expressed as a containerized microservices architecture supporting a suite of Mobile Client Apps.

You will be working on our newest product offering Aptos ONE; a cloud-native, mobile-first, and unified commerce services platform. This will enable retailers to respond to changing market demands across all customer touchpoints

Here’s what you’ll do…

  • Engage with Customers and Aptos Sales in early stages to define the project scope, lead the GAP analysis and define the architecture of the solution and all related integrations.
  • Provide innovative solutions to meet the customer needs.
  • Ensure best practices are correctly used across the overall implementation of the solution. 
  • Keep a 360° view on the implementation ensuring the delivery is always in line with the defined scope.
  • Collaborate with the Project Management team for the definition of project plans.
  • Lead the Design Review and the Design Authority
  • Collaborate with the Product team, to report customer needs (Technical / Non-Technical) recommending product improvements.
  • Anticipate customer needs providing innovative solutions. 
  • Travel estimated at 60% 

Here’s what skills you’ll need… 

  • Deep knowledge of the retail market (preferred apparel) 
  • Strong experience with retail typical data models (pricing, merchandising, customer management, transactions)
  • 7+ years of experience on POS implementation preferably on an international context 
  • Great visual communicator, able to create architectural documents that describe systems, integrations, software delivery approaches, data relationships, invocation sequencing, networking and other key concepts.
  • Experience communicating with customers/clients in a professional manner
  • 3+ years of experience in cloud-based architectures, microservices architectures, or application design and development 
  • Knowledge of DevOps principles
  • Experience working in an Agile environment.
  • Implementation experience working with mobile frameworks and applications
  • Deep understanding of different integration patterns and best practices such as events, synchronous vs. asynchronous messaging, peer-to-peer, Publish-subscribe, distributed logs and RESTful APIs.

Here’s what will give you an edge…

  • Successful completion of a Bachelor of Engineering.
  • Excellent technical, verbal and written communication skills
  • Knowledge of Fashion/Apparel and Retail business processes and industry business issues, at a strategic and operational level
  • Advanced level production-proven technical competency in one of the major enterprise development platforms (Lambda/AWS, Azure, .NET, Node.js, Java, TypeScript, REACT, etc.). 
  • Familiarity with containers and container-orchestration systems (Docker / Kubernetes)
  • Familiarity with CI/CD tools (Circle CI / Jenkins)
  • Experience using the following tools Viso / Draw.io, Jira, Confluence
  • Language: English (must), Italian (plus), French (plus).
