Job description

The Presentation Specialist is primarily responsible for the creation and production of PowerPoint presentations that encompass a major portion of the agency’s medical education materials. Studio responsibilities for the position include the coordination of workflow from traffic through the studio with scheduling and timing as key elements. Hands-on work and quality control checking on all graphic files are also major daily tasks.

The Presentation Specialist is responsible for supporting our agency’s medical education materials by fulfilling marketing commitments that require the design and production of electronic media. The PowerPoint Specialist must possess superior visual conceptual skills. The depth of the position demands qualifications developed over a minimum of four to six years of related graphic experience. This position requires a flexible schedule and the ability to work some evenings and weekends. He or she will report to the Manager, PowerPoint Services.

 

Desired Skills and Experience

  • Formats complex medical slides
  • Executes substantial editorial and medical changes
  • Designs and creates PowerPoint templates collaborating with the Creative Director and Management as needed
  • Designs and produces marketing materials including new medical education tools and promotional collateral in slide format
  • Helps to establish and maintain the highest possible standards for all electronic presentations (PPT) and audio and visual materials produced by the agency
  • Troubleshoots files and readies both internal and client-supplied materials for production and presentation
  • Organizes and maintains the folder and file structure of art and graphics server
  • Works with Traffic and Editorial to establish timeframes for all work entering studio
  • Meets established deadlines or provides reasonable notice to the Traffic department of delays or special circumstances requiring deadline extension
  • Examines and approves finished art and conceptual material and supervises the alteration or correction of such material
  • Engages in any personal development necessary to stay current in advertising techniques and standards, and research activity required to become more familiar with clients’ businesses
  • Assists in brainstorming sessions and creation of marketing materials
  • Assists agency staff with PowerPoint and other pertinent queries
  • Works in collaboration with the Art department to ensure branding synergy
  • Performs occasional additional duties as deemed appropriate by Management
  • Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of four to six years of PowerPoint presentation experience (pharmaceutical or medical experience preferred)
  • Proficient in advanced PowerPoint (2003) skills, especially in formatting and editing slides and notes pages. Must have knowledge of MS Word, Adobe Photoshop and Acrobat
  • Knowledge of Adobe InDesign and Illustrator a plus
  • Knowledge of Flash/Web design, video editing, and InfoPath helpful
  • Must have a strong conceptual skills and design sense
  • Prezi and Articulate experience preferred but not required 
  • Ability to provide consistently superior work in a timely fashion
  • Excellent organizational skills and ability to prioritize workflow to meet competing/changing deadlines
  • Is a team player able to thrive in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent analytical, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Must have a keen eye for detail with a focus on quality control
