Success:

  • Actively involved in the monthly close process, owning the preparation and review of journal entries, account reconciliations and workpapers
  • Identify opportunities to automate, streamline, and improve the accuracy and timeliness of monthly close; uses Workday effectively, with a keen eye on improving productivity
  • Assist in preparation of accurate consolidated financial statements
  • Understand all lines of business and identify trends and variances among multiple streams of revenue
  • Monitor cash management platform to reconcile deferred revenue
  • Help lead the implementation of best practices on revenue recognition to accommodate scaling of our business and new revenue streams
  • Process payroll for 250+ employees on a semi-monthly basis, and managing all payroll operations related to employee compensation, including bonuses, for exempt and non-exempt workers
  • Ensure all accounting transactions related to payroll are properly recorded in the general ledger
  • Critically review and analyze current payroll and tax procedures in order to recommend and implement changes leading to best practice operations
  • Ensure all payroll information and records are maintained in accordance with statutory requirements
  • Assist with annual audits and tax preparation

Desired experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, CPA is required
  • Minimum of 5-7 years related accounting experience
  • Experience working in a start-up environment strongly preferred
  • Experience with Workday ERP system preferred
  • Strong working knowledge of GAAP, accounting and tax matters
  • Strong Excel skills, and be comfortable with extremely large data volume
  • Able to work under time pressure, able to prioritize workload and meet tight deadlines
  • Positive attitude and flexible, especially in the period of month/quarter/year-end closing
  • Proven ability to succeed in a fast paced and constantly changing environment
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong organizational, time management, and prioritization abilities
