The Consumer Packaged Goods (CPG) team enables our guests to enjoy Blue Bottle in far-flung places or on-the-go by distilling our unique cafe experiences into portable forms. Our beloved pair of products, New Orleans Iced Coffee and Cold Brew Black Coffee, are gaining fans quickly and we’re excited to bring them and other new products to more and more people.

As CPG Manager in Japan, you will help Blue Bottle Coffee in its mission by developing CPG business from scratch. You will be working closely with CPG team in the US to learn about our products and on your own building relationships with brokers/retailers/distributors within Japan market.

This position will be based in Tokyo, Japan and is reporting to the President of Japan.

You will:

  • Create and develop Go-to-Market strategy for Japan CPG business
  • Successfully launch new products with speed and accuracy, and continually work on optimizing our SKU mix with retailers as needed
  • Manage the creation and execution of marketing and promotions plans specific to each channel to drive growth
  • Own relationship with buyers at key retailers and online marketplace businesses, and independently assess opportunities to ensure we’re growing our distribution profitably and sustainably
  • Understand production timeline to ensure complete and on-time order fulfillment, chargeback minimization and operations metrics compliance
  • Responsible for creating, analyzing, and controlling forecasts for our CPG products and use it for inventory plans to efficiently meet our customer’s order schedules

You are:

  • Someone who has both an intuitive sense and complex understanding of our product and our guests, that will enhance the Blue Bottle Coffee experience and encourage lasting customers

  • Able to set specific and measurable performance objectives and strive to always meet or exceed the performance standard

  • Analytical and creative thinker who can leverage the wealth of data in order to drive actionable insight

You have:

  • 10+ years of relevant experience in wholesale, retail, preferably with a premium consumer brand
  • F&B industry experience is preferred
  • 5+ years of leadership experience
  • Strong drive for results and influencing skills
  • Strong analytical, organizational, decision making skills
  • Fluency in Japanese and English (written and spoken)
  • Bachelor’s degree
  • A deep love for great coffee, food, and exceptional guest experiences
