Lead Analyst, Bank Analytics

Cardlytics gets access to this data through the strong partnerships that we’ve created with our many banks. As a Lead Analyst on the Bank Analytics team, you will be leveraging data to help provide actionable insights around consumer engagement and card usage. You’ll be knee deep in data at times, and other times you’ll be crafting the story and presenting your findings to our bank partners.

Cool stuff you get to do in this role

  • Work on problems impacting some of the largest banks in the U.S.
  • Work with large data sets in a fast-paced environment and tight timelines
  • Craft presentations answering real business questions 
  • Mine purchase data to understand consumer spending habits, competitive landscapes, and customer journeys
  • Develop and standardize new analytic approaches for use by the team

What you will accomplish in this role

  • Understand what various changes to user experience do to engagement and company economics
  • Teach the company about what drives engagement on the Cardlytics Network
  • Provide relevant data points to inform stakeholders of what is happening at our banks
  • Convince a major US bank that the analytics team at Cardlytics should be trusted and consulted
  • Inform future bank marketing campaign design through analysis of past tests

What you bring to the table

  • Skills
    • Strong quantitative skills, statistics/probabilities are essential
    • Advanced Excel and PowerPoint skills required
    • Proficient in SQL and R
    • Experience with SAS and Python a plus
    • Experience with Tableau and data visualization an advantage
    • Knowledge of advanced statistical modeling, design of experiments and data mining techniques
  • Communication and Cognitive Abilities
    • Strong critical thinking ability
    • Strong ability to interpret complex analytical results and transform into a client ready deliverable
    • Proven ability to lead and influence strategic and tactical business decisions based on statistical and quantitative analysis
    • Heavy attention to detail
    • Outstanding communication, presentation and interpersonal skills
    • Driven, can-do attitude with proactive problem-solving capabilities
    • Entrepreneurial and team-oriented spirit
  • Experience
    • 5+ years relevant experience in Analytical functions
    • Experience in Marketing or Banking a plus
    • Bachelor’s degree in Economics, Statistics, Engineering, Mathematics, Decision Sciences, Marketing Research or similar field. Higher level degrees are preferred but not required
