About the role

In this role you will work with the cutting-edge data science tools with a team of passionate data scientists.  This team employs science and engineering to build create solutions to data science problem such as forecasting customer behavior and text analysis-based classification on large volumes of data. You will work with tools in the Python and Linux environments to build production models that engineering will scale. The team uses agile development methodology to deliver timely business value.

What you will accomplish

  • Lead a team of data scientists engaged in many areas of data science including deep learning, machine learning, text modeling, time-series forecasting, anomaly detection, and advanced complex models
  • Apply statistics and advanced modeling to solve data science problems
  • Build predictive data science solutions using text analysis
  • Build AI and machine learning solutions that operate at scale in production environments
  • Research, prove and document new modeling approaches and cutting-edge algorithms
  • Refactor complex SQL programs for speed and efficiency
  • Collaborate other analyst teams in automating models and building Python solutions from existing R, SQL, and other platforms
  • Find opportunities for streamlining and automation of business processes that provide insights and business information to clients
  • Manage advance forecast models that provide advertising Account Managers with accurate predictions on running campaigns

Skills and experiences that will make you successful  

  • Skills
    • Knowledge of advanced statistical modeling, testing, data mining, and data science techniques
    • Advanced in modeling frameworks including Scikit-learn, PyTorch, and TensorFlow
    • Highly proficient in Python and SQL
    • Proficiency in Linux working in shell
    • Experience in R is a plus
    • Experience with H2O, Data Robot or other automated AI tools are a plus
    • Advanced Excel and PowerPoint skills required
    • Experience with Tableau and other data visualization is a plus
    • Strong ability to interpret complex analytical results and transformation into audience ready deliverables
    • Proven ability to lead and influence strategic and tactical business decisions based on advanced statistical and quantitative modeling
    • Strong scientific approach to problem-solving
  • Communication and Cognitive Skills
    • Ability to present to peers and senior management
    • Ability to adjust and adapt to different audiences
    • Proactive problem-solving capabilities
    • Entrepreneurial and team-oriented spirit
  • Experience
    • Master's degree in Statistics, Engineering, Decision Sciences, or similar field required
    • 3+ years of relevant experience as a Manager or Senior Manager
    • Experience with developing machine learning models and successfully automating scaling them for corporate-wide usage
    • Experience training, mentoring and developing data science talent
