About this role:

We’re looking for an Accountant who will be responsible for running the accounting and financial activities at Carousell subsidiaries. She/He will ensure the financial reporting accuracy of the subsidiaries and provide financial information and accounting advice to other departments, enabling them to make critical decisions. The candidate will undertake full set of accounting and contribute meaningfully to the development of processes in the subsidiaries.

 

Responsibilities: 

  • Be an individual contributor handling set of accounting including but not limited to accounts payable, accounts receivables, fixed assets and general ledger
  • Summarise current financial status by preparing balance sheet, profit and loss statement, and other reports including deep-dive on variance analysis
  • Conduct month-end and year-end close process activities
  • Ensure completeness and accuracy of audit schedules and reconciliations
  • Substantiates financial transactions by collating and reviewing supporting documents
  • Maintains accounting controls by preparing and recommending policies and procedures
  • Reconciles financial discrepancies by collecting and analysing account information
  • Monitor cash balances to ensure sufficient funds for operational needs
  • Assist in other ad-hoc queries to support the daily business tasks
  • Assist the Accounting Manager in audit and other accounting related tasks

 

Requirements:

  • Qualified accountant with ACCA/CPA/Degree in Accounting and Finance
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in handling full set of accounts
  • A high level of rigour, energy, discipline and pro-active ability to operate independently and in team
  • Attention to detail and deadline-oriented
  • Be result-driven with a strong commitment to deliver within timelines, and able to learn and adapt quickly to different interlocutors, contexts and teams
  • Experience in Oracle (NetSuite) would be an added advantage
  • Experience in integrating acquired entities a strong plus
