Are you a support guru that is looking for a challenge in a niche but long standing, proven career enabling market?  Join Command Alkon’s, Bulk Materials Support team in beautiful, sunny Lenexa, Kansas.  We take pride in being the leaders supporting software and hardware for the bulk material industry that includes places such as Rock Quarries, Asphalt Plants, Dredging Operations, Recycle Plants, and much more.  Our proven and long-standing plant automation technology suite allows for unattended operations and requires individuals that have a deep hunger for extraordinary customer service and deeper technical knowledge. 

What You'll Do

  • You’re able to provide A+ Customer Support to Command Alkon customers via telephone and internet regarding Command Alkon’s Bulk Materials Solutions and integrated products
  • You are a strong customer advocate that takes ownership of customer issues through resolution. You are empathetic, responsive, resourceful, and see the support experience through our customer's eyes
  • Assess the nature of product or service issues and resolve problems
  • Test and reproduce customer issues to determine the cause of the problem and relay any bug findings to the Programming Department following documented procedures
  • Document and research all issues using our case management software, Clarify 
  • Provide proactive support
  • Provide on call after hours support rotated throughout the entire team
  • Document processes while applying continuous improvement methodologies to optimize customer experience
  • Perform customer software upgrades as needed
  • Opportunities to perform smaller scale on-site implementation projects once a year to keep sharp and hone customer facing skills
  • +-10% Travel

What You'll Bring

  • 2+ years of experience in a customer support role dealing with product software
  • Experience with Windows Operating Systems – Server, Business, Clients, Desktop
  • Experience with Microsoft SQL Databases, Past and Current versions
  • Experience with current Windows O/S, networking, hardware, drivers and various other devices
  • Knowledge of Crystal Reports software to upgrade, modify, and convert Crystal Reports for customers
  • Strong proficiency with MS-SQL database and troubleshooting operations
  • Strong proficiency with Windows Operating Systems and Servers
  • Help desk experience

Who You Are

  • Knowledge of construction and bulk materials industry is a plus, along with following knowledge pertaining to: Quarry/Plant Automation, PLC (programmable logic controllers), OPC Connectivity, basic electrical understanding, Accounting Practices, Sales Practices, Billing, Etc.
  • Strong technical problem-solving skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build effective working relationships
  • You have an excellent sense of humor and appreciate a team-oriented office environment
  • You're great at prioritization! You can juggle customer escalations, product changes, service issues, and effectively communicate with the customers in regard to these
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Ability to remain calm and professional in hectic situations and enjoy working in fast paced environments
  • Ability to solve problems effectively and creatively
  • Ability to work both independently and in a team environment
  • Bilingual- Spanish or Portuguese is a plus
