The Role
First and foremost, this is a growth role for our current Telematics business and global aspirations within our Ready Mix / Producer market segment, Bulk Materials / Supplier market segment, as well as Hauler market segment.  It requires working closely with existing Product and Operations Managers of existing products currently in market or launching soon, thus protecting our existing product and revenue position.   It does not represent specific products, but instead the entire product portfolio that serves our respective market segment's Telematics needs.  You will wake up every day focusing on how to protect then accelerate growth beyond our +45,000 TrackIt Units and +16,000 TFleet Units. 

This role lives in the market as an “Outside-In” thinker, will be a key industry thought leader/evangelist, and has exhaustive subject matter expertise for use of Telematics within the Heavy Building Materials Ecosystem. You must understand operators, users, and most importantly, economic buyers. You will set and execute the product strategy for Telematics segment (product and otherwise), based on forward-thinking market needs and the company’s strategic objectives. 

This role is the “tip-of-the-spear” when it comes to future, growth-thinking of our collective Telematics businesses, working closely with our Senior Leadership Team, Board and Advisors, and Product, Sales, and Operational Leadership. It may also include business development and corporate development for growth opportunities via Build, Buy, and Partner.  This role puts Sales first, and the products, tools, and training, that they need to be successful. You will also work with peer Product Managers (and respective Product Owners and Operations Managers) to determine strategic fit and market opportunities.  A major responsibility will include 2-3 year product Rationalization to simplify our portfolio and rapidly grow our business, as well as aggressively Cloud-Enabling our offerings to accelerate our SaaS journey.

  • 8+ years of Product Management or Product Marketing experience in a fast-paced environment
  • 8 + years of Telematics or Heavy Building Materials or Supply Chain Industry experience
  • You define your travel needs to be successful as an Outside-In thinker

Top Growth Responsibilities/What You'll Do

  • Top-Line Growth
  • Pricing and packaging of new or existing offering, working closely with Sales
  • Identify revenue uplift opportunities, favoring conversion to SaaS revenues
  • Equip ideal sales channels both with upsell/cross-sell opportunities identified, as well as the Sales ‘plays’ to win 

  • Bottom Line
  • 2-3 year Product Portfolio Rationalization, simplifying our offering and number of products for our teams to support
  • Develop a deep understanding of product(s) gross margins, and track opportunities to optimize operating metrics
  • Identify initiatives to prevent churn and/or down-sell

  • Organic
  • Identify new growth opportunities amongst various heavy building materials segments, and create Business / Investment Cases
  • Prioritize Key Initiatives and Roadmap with disciplined cadence/communication
  • Create robust Outside-In feedback program: Focus Groups, Aha! Idea Portal, user Communities, and other techniques (esp. with economic buyer personas)

  • Corporate and Business Development to identify M&A targets
  • Manage the Competitive Landscape for the Telematics segment, including positioning, pricing tracking
  • Identify key platform partnership opportunities

  • Define and manage key segment statistics including TAM (Total Addressable Market), customer/user counts, etc. for the segment
  • Sales enablement activities including sales plans, playbooks, and launch plans.
  • Disciplined win-loss analysis on deals
  • Consider and protect our Intellectual Property
