The Role:

Descartes Labs is looking for an Engineering Manager able to leverage a combination of exceptional people leadership and technical skills to lead, motivate, and grow our full-stack Platform team. You excel by challenging and supporting the team to do their best work.

Your Impact

Manage and develop an incredible team while fostering a healthy and collaborative culture
Translate the requirements presented by our product team into engineering priorities and planning, managing workloads and advocating for a healthy, productive environment
Collaborate with our science, platform, infrastructure, and Federal teams to support immediate needs while balancing future vision
Contribute your own software engineering expertise to our deliverables
Active contributor to the Engineering management team, managing planning and resources to reliably deliver on OKRs

What You Bring

5 or more years of experience in a technical leadership position
Demonstrated experience leading diverse, distributed teams and creating engaging, inclusive environments to capably delivers results through others
Successful development and coaching of individuals to grow capabilities and excel in their role
Commitment to results, and consistent demonstration of high performance, challenging self and others to have a positive impact
Influence and the ability to build relationships and credibility across the organization
Applied experience in Python is required; experience in other languages is also valuable
Production experience with highly scalable distributed systems and a cloud environment is required
Bachelor’s degree in computer science, software engineering, or related field
