Printer Technician

Desktop Metal is revolutionizing 3D printing of metal parts.  Our printer’s robust build processes create complex parts beautifully at a price attainable by any design and manufacturing team and can be used within an office environment.  We are seeking talented and self-motivated technician to help break down the barriers that are holding metal 3D printing back: price, performance, and variety of materials.

The Printer Technician will be responsible for:

  • Depowdering

    • Depowder printed parts
    • Inspect parts for defect and document findings
    • Complete dimensioning or imaging tasks as needed
    • Maintain meticulous part and print tracking logs
    • Maintain an organized part storage system
    • Communicate print results to various teams


    • Arrange parts on shelves for sintering
    • Document sintering layout
    • Load and unload furnaces
    • Select cycle and operate furnaces


    • Inspect parts for defect and document findings
    • Complete dimensioning or imaging tasks as needed
    • Maintain an organized sintered part storage system
    • Communicate sintering results to various teams
    • Deliver sintered parts to various teams

Basic Qualifications:

  • Experience using and developing databases.  
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Strong communication skills
  • Ability to handle fragile parts
  • Ability to lift up to 40lbs
