Role Description

Based in Dropbox’s San Francisco headquarters, the Head of Diversity, Equity & Inclusion will be responsible for creating and implementing diversity and inclusion initiatives throughout the company. We are looking for a hands-on leader who loves to design and implement change. This will include assessment of current state, recommendations for future programs and practices, and ensuring implementation as Dropbox continues to grow and scale.


The successful candidate will be highly collaborative, working effectively and efficiently with all functions. The Head of Diversity, Equity & Inclusion will be someone who builds tight-knit relationships across the organization; is diplomatic and an effective influencer. The Head of Diversity, Equity & Inclusion is a strong leader and manager, and wants to build and scale a team. This will be an individual who effectively participates in internal debate with the objective to decide, align and put plans into action. This person has a deep level of empathy for people of all backgrounds.

Dropbox’s Head of Diversity, Equity & Inclusion will develop specific strategies to ensure we continue to embed diversity and inclusion into Dropbox’s day-to-day operations, practices, processes and employee development. Specifically they will:

  • Develop Dropbox's global Diversity strategy across all levels of the company, at every stage from recruiting to assessment to development
  • You lead and manage the Dropbox diversity, equity and inclusion team, helping execute programs and events
  • Provide strategic council and partnership with key business partners across the organization
  • Partner closely with the Diversity Recruiting team to ensure diversity strategies are fully embedded in all recruiting activity
  • Manage communications for diversity and inclusion activities together with senior leaders, partnering closely with our Communications team
  • Serve as an advocate for all Dropboxers and the various communities that make Dropbox great
  • Work with the Global Head of People to partner with the external community to promote diversity and inclusion as a critical element of the success of Dropbox


  • 10+ years experience implementing diversity and inclusion programs in complex organizations
  • 8+ years managing successful partnerships and advocacy with employee resource groups
  • You should be excited to dig in and get hands dirty to build and shape innovative programs
  • You bring the passion and energy to help take Dropbox to the next level while embodying their values and culture
  • Have deep understanding of the highly competitive technical labor market (specifically in Silicon Valley and Seattle) and how it relates to diversity
  • Possess a proven ability to build sustainable relationships within the organization, including every level and function(e.g., Engineering to Sales, Executive Team to a mid-level manager)
  • Expertise in data and analytics to inform decisions and influence change
  • An innovative big thinker
  • Confidence to push back” on senior executives when necessary
