EnerNOC, a leading provider of demand response and energy intelligence software, has an immediate need for a Program Operations Analyst to join our world-class Energy Markets organization. As a Program Operations Analyst you will be responsible for the management and execution of the operational processes required to effectively deliver on our demand response commitments with utilities and ISOs (Independent System Operators) worldwide. You will become an expert in the team’s core functions as well as develop a broader understanding of the company’s demand response business. Analysts are expected to critically evaluate existing operations and processes, accurately report on findings, and make improvements through tool and process development and cross-team collaboration. Analysts are expected to lead cross-functional projects and effectively communicate, organize, and delegate to the group. Analysts should also act as a mentor to more junior members of the team.

The ideal candidate must be able to autonomously perform the duties of a Program Operations Associate as well as have the ability to: identify and implement process improvements, manage small teams or working groups, make decisions commensurate with their position, and effectively manage upward issues and escalations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Effectively execute on the core competencies of the Program Operations team
    • Enroll assets into utility and ISO demand response programs
    • Settle interval usage data in various demand response programs
    • Assist with monthly and quarter close financial activities
    • Support additional operational functions to facilitate successful program delivery
  • Possess a technical understanding of the tools and platforms used by the team
  • Provide upward reporting and visibility into the execution and progress of various operational activities
  • Produce thoughtful and accurate analysis of data with clear and concise reporting as a means of influencing business decisions throughout the organization
  • Develop strong cross-departmental relationships and leverage them to ensure transparent and effective delivery on our demand response commitments
  • Identify and implement process and tool improvements to gain efficiency, reduce costs, and improve the company’s bottom line
  • Lead small to medium sized cross-functional groups to support operational work and/or execute on a project plan
  • Facilitate training and delegation of responsibilities to temporary employees (e.g. college interns, recent grads) and provide mentorship to more junior members of the team
  • All other tasks and responsibilities as requested by management

Required Qualifications:

  • BA/BS degree with a technical, analytical, or financial focus
  • Excellent computer skills, including mastery of Microsoft Office
  • Excellent problem solving, data analysis, and communication skills
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills with an ability to balance conflicting priorities effectively
  • Operational mindset and experience managing small groups towards a unified goal
  • Ability to take an abstract problem and develop a specific plan to tackle it
  • Track record of escalating issues appropriately and in a timely manner
  • Ability to work in a fast paced, forward moving environment and successfully manage high stress situations
  • Attention to detail and an inquisitive nature
  • Self-starter with the ability to identify important tasks and take the initiative to drive them to resolution with little oversight
  • Displays leadership and capability to train and manage temporary employees
  • Demonstrates adaptability and the desire to continually learn and challenge oneself

Desired Qualifications:

  • 2 – 3 years of experience working in an operationally oriented team environment
  • Demonstrated interest or experience in energy management, data analytics, power generation, or related technologies

  • Knowledge of statistics, computer science and programming, or other analytical discipline and relevant tools (R, MATLAB, Pyton, etc)
