Essential Products is a new type of company focused on creating consumer technology products for the 21st century.

As a modem test engineer you will help us bring our devices through regulatory and carrier certifications.  We are looking for folks with experience driving GCF and PTCRB certifications.  You will work directly with third party labs and in house engineering to triage modem issues.  

Responsibilities

  • GCF/PTCRB lab engineer (role name needs to be defined)
  • Be technical interface to regulatory labs (resolve blockers, triage issues)
  • Triage modem issues from mobile operators and field test
  • May do spot field testing to reproduce issuesUtilize tools including QXDM, Xcal, Wireshark and network protocol analyzers to help determine root cause and resolve issues

Qualifications

  • Experience in Field Testing and Test methodologies for various wireless technologies (GSM/GPRS/UMTS/LTE)
  • Solid understanding of 3GPP2/3GPP/ETSI standards
  • Experience with different carrier networks and infrastructures is desirable
  • Experience bringing devices through PTCRB/GCF certification
  • Excellent live network and lab debugging skills
