Director of Digital Design

Duration: Full-Time

As our Director of Digital Product Design & Experience, you'll define expressions of our brand and narrative across our digital experience and omnichannel touchpoints. We're looking for a design leader who marry their discerning eye for beautiful design with a hands-on approach to building compelling user experience. The person in this role would nurture our team of designers in different specializations (UX, product design, visual design, story telling), manage cross-functional initiatives with creative and marketing teams, and not be afraid to get down to the ground to design those experiences.

Your day-to-day:

  • Bring in strong conceptual vision that allows to continually identify new ideas for our brand narrative and break down those ideas into simple, compelling site experiences with an ability to design those experiences
  • Own and drive digital product and omnichannel design direction across all customer touchpoints
  • Lead and mentor our highly-skilled design team with varied specializations and areas of focus (product design, UX, visual), and invest in their personal and professional development
  • Empower and inspire designers and researchers, and builds culture that teach, inspire and challenge beyond the design team
  • Leverage design to influence business strategy and ground recommendations in business goals
  • Partner with engineering team to build customer experiences that are both beautiful and highly functional
  • Foster strong and collaborative relationships between design team, creative and marketing
  • Lead initiatives to promote design thinking within the company

We'd love to hear from you if you have:

  • An understanding of how to visualize, design and build powerful experiences that connect with consumers on an emotional level
  • An ability to marry beautiful design with seamless user experiences
  • An ability to pivot from strategic thinking to tactical execution
  • Deep knowledge of design principles and demonstrated ability to teach those principles to others, imbuing design culture in all areas of a team
  • A track record of managing and mentoring outstanding individual designers with different specializations
  • An ability to build strong cross-functional relationships and influence key decisions
  • An ability to work in dynamic and fast-paced environment where every day presents a new challenge
  • Quick learning ability with an unwaveringly positive, action-oriented attitude
  • 8+ years of experience in Design
  • 3+ years of management experience with direct reports
  • 3+ years of experience with Sketch and Invision
