Studies show that when car sharing is available, people drive less and drive vehicles more appropriate for their use case, which can reduce household carbon emissions by up to 40%. Also, shared cars are used more frequently and retired more quickly, accelerating the adoption of newer, more energy-efficient vehicles.

Getaround’s Trust & Safety organization is focused on building and maintaining trust between hosts, guests, and Getaround. The organization takes a customer-centric, proactive approach to build trust, with the goal of fostering lasting customer relationships. To do so, the organization is responsible for identifying and mitigating key risks in various arenas including Payments and Collections, Fraud & Identity, Marketplace Quality, Physical Security, and Critical Incident Response.

In this role, you will lead strategy and execution for payments and credit risk mitigation. You will advance Getaround’s strategy by identifying key opportunities and collaborating with stakeholders and potential 3rd party partners to develop and execute creative solutions. At the same time,  you will be responsible for financial and operational metrics spanning payment fees, payment acceptance, chargebacks, and collections. This will require you to have a firm grasp on the day-to-day lay of the land and to identify and react to new trends as they emerge. Most importantly, you will be an advocate for our customers and will find new and creative ways to expand customer access to Getaround.

What You'll Do

  • Lead strategy and execution for new initiatives to expand payment options and credit solutions
  • Own end-to-end guest fund flow including payment acceptance, chargeback disputes, and secondary collections
  • Own key financial and operational metrics across payment fees, payment acceptance, collections, chargebacks, and bad debt
  • Stand up and oversee operational programs like 3rd party collections
  • Report on monthly and quarterly metrics including providing analysis to explain new trends

What you'll Need

  • 4+ years of experience in payments, lending, or collections at a tech start-up or tech marketplace. Broad knowledge of and interest in the fintech landscape.
  • Ability to identify, advocate for, and execute strategic initiatives...the more creative the better.
  • Experience leading large-scale, x-functional projects.
  • Experience managing key metrics or financial line items.
  • Strong analytical skills. You’ll need to draw conclusions from messy and/or limited data. 
  • Willingness to get dirty in the spreadsheets. You are your own analyst...at least for now.
  • Ability to pull data from Looker required. 

Additional Awesomeness

  • Previous experience working in or partnering closely with finance is a huge plus
  • The ability to write SQL is a huge plus
  • Experience working with Stripe is a plus
