Engineering Manager, Shared Experiences | Growth

SF, Denver, NY, Remote

Gusto is looking for an engineering leader to kickstart a team called Shared Experiences for ensuring that all of Gusto’s customers have consistent high quality interactions. This team is a part of the broader Growth engineering effort in Gusto. 

You’ll lead and grow a team of engineers and work closely with design, product management and data science teams to own and drive the team’s vision, strategy and execution. This role focuses on helping to drive the creation and rollout of a comprehensive customer communications platform, information architecture strategy, customer dashboards and more with the goal of helping our customers realize the value of the product in an intuitive way.

The engineering leader will bootstrap and lead a world class engineering team to build out platforms that provide a delightful experience to our customers with a focus on efficiently getting the job done. 

Here’s what you’ll do day-to-day:

  • Hire, lead and grow a team of talented engineers
  • Work cross functionally with design and product management to own the team’s vision and strategy
  • Work with cross-functional partners in engineering and data science to realize the vision

Here’s what we're looking for:

  • 7+ years software engineering experience
  • 5+ years software engineering management experience
  • Experience in highly cross-functional environments for highly complex products preferred.
  • Experience in bootstrapping teams from the ground up preferred. 
  • Prior experience in growth, front end engineering and user experience optimization preferred.
