Harry’s is a men’s grooming brand that was built out of respect for quality craftsmanship, simple design, modern convenience and for guys who know they shouldn’t have to overpay for a great shave. We are able to deliver exceptional value and experiences to our customers because we are vertically integrated. From grinding steel into fine razors blades at our factory in Germany to selling our products directly to customers on our website and select retailers, we own the entire process.

About the Team

The Industrial Design team is responsible for the design and development of products, packaging and environments for both the Harry’s brand and Private Label brands world-wide.

About the Role

This position will play an integral role in developing the future of Harry’s design aesthetic. They will need to be creative and innovative to help drive future development. The mid-level Industrial Designer is critical to the success of the ID team by performing a wide range of duties including the following:

  • Drive design innovation of the future products, packages and spaces
  • Communicate design concepts within the company and to manufacturers by:
    • Conceptualize new products through sketches
    • Develop 3D models of new concepts using SolidWorks and Keyshot
    • Prototype models
    • Orthographic drawings and development sheets
  • Cross-functional state of mind - Understand the unique perspectives of Marketing, Engineering, and Operations and work with these teams to launch products successfully
  • Creative problem solver – Forward thinking and seeks out novel solutions
  • Rolls with the punches - Resilient despite lack of resources and shifting priorities, ability to flex and pivot with the flow
  • Be a leader - Manage outside vendors and junior team members

What you will accomplish:

  • Drive creativity for Harry’s and future brands
  • Develop new products and continue to refine current products/packages
  • Explore new ideas, forms and materials
  • Lead product development projects driven by business needs, marketing concepts and user insights with expert understanding of core ID skills from hand sketching, digital visualization, CAD, materials and manufacturing knowledge, and impressive design sensibility
  • Manage staff, defining responsibilities and expectations for report-tos, and project team members, providing project guidance and helping their professional growth.

This should describe you:

  • 7-8  years of Industrial Design experience
  • 4-year degree from a University
  • Passion for design, strong technical background and a proven understanding of the product development process
  • Wizard at complex CAD modeling and rendering
  • Effective planning/organizational skills with exceptional detail orientation
  • Effective interpersonal skills, ability to express ideas and collaborate within Harry’s as well as with external suppliers
  • Open-minded and enjoys an energetic and fast-paced environment
  • Ability to work under pressure, prioritize work and meet multiple deadlines
