About the job

The H&S Lead is responsible for supporting the implementation of the HelloFresh HSMS at our distribution centres. This includes providing advice and support to managers and employees as well as supporting H&S improvements and initiatives to ensure a safety and healthy work environment across all UK operations.

What you will be doing:

. Managing H&S

. Conduct regular safety walks holding behavioural conversations with employees, supervisors and managers, updating behavioural safety log to reflect conversations.
. Inspect all areas of the business on a monthly basis, issuing reports to management, updating the corrective action and preventative (CAPA)     action log.
. Participate in or lead investigations into accidents and incidents identifying corrective action, preventative actions and causation factors,   updating the site incident log and addressing any actions that have been assigned to the H&S Coordinator in a timely fashion.
. Adhere to the requirements of the site safety management system at all times
 Inform senior site management (Head of Production / Senior Ops Mgr / Duty Ops Mgr) of significant incidents as soon as reasonably practicable to do so, also keeping the UK Operations Head of Health & Safety informed
. Audit the implementation of the HelloFresh HSMS, issuing reports and recommendations for improvement to the UK Operations teams.
. Lead site based reviews of outstanding risk assessment actions, booking meetings with stakeholders to review actions and assisting or offering advice where necessary on completion.
. Take ownership of site H&S communication processes such as notice boards, keeping these up to date with relevant information
. Keep up to date with new HSE legislation and industry best practice
. Support the UK Operations teams in delivering task and area risk assessments when and as required.
. Work with the Head of H&S on the delivery of ergonomic risk assessments across HelloFresh UK Operations
. Work with the Head of H&S on the delivery COSHH assessments across HelloFresh UK Operations
. General administration tasks related to the HSMS
. Identifying gaps, problems and inefficiency in current processes
. Provide H&S, advise and support

. Act as a point of contact for staff and management at a site level
. Support site H&S meetings including site H&S committee meetings
. Act as point of contact for site safety champion group, holding monthly meetings to review site performance, prepare meeting minutes and issue minutes to site management and safety champions in a timely fashion
. Engage staff in safe practice, and review feedback from the team on how to improve 
. Advise site management team on safety processes, the safety management systems, changes, accident investigation, best practice and all general safety enquiries
. Promote strong internal H&S culture through positive engagement with the site teams at all levels and own employee happiness safety initiatives.
. Liaise and communicate with the operations team on safety issues and improvements
. Work closely with the Ops. Development, HR, Facilities and Maintenance teams to ensure H&S is being considered
. Create and deliver H&S training packages
. Create and deliver safety related tool box talks when and as required based on identified risk gaps
. Engage staff in safe practice, and review feedback from the team on how to improve
. Advise site management team on safety processes, the safety management systems, changes, accident investigation, best practice and all general safety enquiries
. Promote strong internal H&S culture through positive engagement with the site teams at all levels and own employee happiness safety initiatives.
. Liaise and communicate with the operations team on safety issues and improvements
. Work closely with the Ops. Development, HR, Facilities and Maintenance teams to ensure H&S is being considered
. Create and deliver H&S training packages
. Create and deliver safety related tool box talks when and as required based on identified risk gaps
. Develop procedures and safe systems of work when and as required, work across functions to ensure these are trained out
. Support H&S initiatives and projects

. Work with the H&S Manager to support the UK Operations teams in implementing the HelloFresh HSMS
. Work closely with the H&S Manager and Operational teams to understand site issues and risks, and provide recommendations to improve
. Seek to continually improve processes and identify areas of potential weaknesses
. Support the introduction, and initiate health and safety campaigns, create a positive and proactive site attitude to safety
. Ad hoc site based projects and initiatives based on business need
. Be a member of site change conversations and drive H&S agenda


Must have:

. Excellent written and verbal English communication skills
. Proficient with Microsoft office (word / excel / PowerPoint)
. Experience in a warehouse / food manufacturing / logistics environment
. Minimum of 1 year Health & Safety experience
. NEBOSH National General Certificate or equivalent
. Outgoing personality
. Highly desirable:

. Experience in delivering H&S training
. Experience in performing ergonomic risk assessments
. Understanding of human factors

Start date: ASAP 

Shift/Hours of Work: Monday to  Friday (40 hours)

Location: The Granary, Unit 3, Chalker Way, Banbury, OX16 4XD
