Digital Sales is a specialized sales organization with a purpose-built infrastructure consisting of Global Digital Sales Centers in Atlanta, GA; Dallas, TX; and Littleton, MA. Trained sellers are accountable for building and maintaining client relationships within their own territories. Leveraging their deep technical, offering and selling skills, our Digital Sellers identify opportunities and develop client valued solutions. We consistently build our digital mastery skills, expand our social influence and gain a better understanding of our clients with a focus on client satisfaction.

This is a summer 2018 position. Applicants should be rising Juniors or rising Seniors pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in the areas of Business, Communications, International Relations, Management Information Systems (MIS) or similar disciplines. Digital Intern positions are available in our Global Digital Sales Centers including: Atlanta, GA; Dallas, TX; and Littleton, MA.

IBM Solution Sales Specialists are sales professionals guided by IBM’s purpose – to be essential to their clients. You will actively engaging clients to develop the trust and credibility to help them grow their businesses by solving strategic and tactical business problems with IBM’s proven cognitive and cloud technology solutions. The IBM Summit Solution Sales Specialists deliver industry centric business solutions to clients of all sizes and markets. During your internship, you will work directly with sales professionals with opportunities at client sites and contribute to the day-to-day sales operations of the team. You will gain an understanding of IBM sales practices as well as knowledge about IBM's products to help develop business solutions for clients. You will shadow sales representatives on client engagements.

You will have the opportunity to network throughout all levels IBM’s robust organization, which will enable you to form contacts and gain insights on future opportunities within IBM. You will work with one of the following business units: Analytics, Cloud, Cognitive Solutions, Digital, Global Finance, Internet of Things, Security, Services, Social, Systems Hardware/Software or Watson Customer Engagement.

Applicants should be considering a career in sales and have a passion for interacting with clients to help them solve business problems through the application of technology. They should have demonstrated business acumen and a desire to learn about leading sales initiatives and how to close business deals. In addition, they should also enjoy daily interaction and teaming with other high performing IBM teammates.

  • Have customer sales/service experience
  • Be a self-starter and have demonstrated leadership experience
  • Possess people and teaming skills

  • Have a capacity to grasp technical details
  • Demonstrate written and oral communication skills
  • Be able to independently travel to local IBM clients and meetings
  • Be a rising Junior or rising Senior majoring in an area of business with proven academic success
