Responsibilities:

  • Generate daily, weekly, monthly and quarterly reports for use by internal Indigo stakeholders working with growers making grain marketing decisions
  • Create framework to approach basis decision timing
  • Partner with data science to create robust models for basis prediction / scenario analysis
  • Actively support Indigo for Grain Sales

 

Competencies:

  • Analytical problem-solving approach
  • Understanding of fundamental inputs into basis changes
  • Expertise in Rail or River or Geography basis systems
  • Clear communication of basis analysis with complexity appropriate to a variety of audiences
  • Ability to make recommendations with strong supporting analysis
  • Ability to write code preferred
  • Knowledge of international cash/basis markets a +
  • Comfortable in a rapidly changing environment

 

Qualifications:

  • 5-10+ years of cash grain trading experience – would trade more experience in place of a degree (if quantitatively focused skillset)
  • Have experience in SIF markets and/orrail cash, required
  • Passion for helping growers make financial decisions
  • Network of basis related contacts
  • Comfort using some analysis tool (Excel, Tableau, Spotfire, etc.)
  • Travel up to 20% (dependent on location)
