About the teams

We're looking for a Fullstack Developer to join our Reader teams. While the reader technology team provides the best reading experience using our famous flipbook. The growth team cares about our document-page where the reader spends most of their time when consuming content on Issuu.com as well as supporting monetization aspects on Issuu.com such as ads.

What you bring with you:

Bachelor’s degree in CS or equivalent,
Desire for creating the best possible experience for the end user,
Experience designing and building robust, high-volume production systems in a scalable microservice architecture,
Experience with dynamically typed systems (e.g. Javascript or Python is a must).
Ability to build and integrate with node.js backends,
A passion for frontend engineering based on a modern stack (e.g. TypeScript, React/Redux, Sass, Design Systems),
Excellent communication skills in English.

Other things you should know are

We're currently working on Issuu’s Story Cloud both on web and mobile apps, machine learning for better understanding of our content, and our famous reading experience to mention a few examples,
We currently use Python, OCaml, Javascript/Typescript (client and server side), our architecture is microservice-oriented using AMQP,
We deploy multiple times a day on AWS and use Kubernetes, MySQL/Postgres, Redis, Elastic Search, etc.,
We have many cross team guilds where we share knowledge, coordinate efforts, and help each other the best we can,
“20% time”- everyone gets one day a week to invest as they see fit (i.e. learn something new, experiment with new ideas in the product, join efforts with others, improve what you think matters, ...).
