The opportunity:

  • Driving our New Zealand industries is a key element of our strategy to maintain growth and embed a winning KPMG Way culture, based on people’s mind set, skillset and discipline. Our Sector Drivers support our key sector growth strategy, to be #1 or #2 in our key sectors.
  • You will have the gravitas to build and maintain strong working relationships with both externally and internally with key C-suite, senior management and our key business partners, within the Corporates sector industry focus areas of Utilities, Retail and Telecommunications, as well as a range of other enterprise listed and privately held organisations. 
  • This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced industry professional, with an existing, relevant and strong personal network.

Day to day you will:

  • Work closely and collaboratively with the National Industry Leader and Client Lead Partners to continue to accelerate the growth of the Corporates sector
  • Lead the sector Managed Account programme and key strategic initiatives as well as leveraging relationships to enhance thought leadership and client events
  • Establish and build relationships within the New Zealand firm and wider KPMG network (ASPAC and Global) to support sector initiatives
  • Provide best practice business development leadership, promoting the use of KPMG’s frameworks and tools to position pursuit and service delivery teams for success
  • Manage and challenge the level of activity across the sector, monitoring performance against budgets and other specific metrics
  • Act as bid manager for strategic or high value opportunities
  • Facilitate client-centric conversations and ensure diversity of thought and experience is brought to the table

What you'll bring to our team:

  • Ideally 6+ years’ experience within the relevant sector / industry
  • Business Development experience in building client relationships, leading proposals and strategic account management
  • An existing and relevant industry network within New Zealand
  • Outstanding influencing skills and confidence in dealing with executive level stakeholders and clients
  • An inclusive mindset with a pragmatic and solutions focused approach
  • Strong communication skills, including an ability to present complex propositions to a wide range of stakeholders
  • Be a self-starter able to work with ambiguity in a dynamic environment
