About the Position

LePort Montessori is currently seeking a passionate, experienced, mission-driven individual to lead a beautiful and well-established campus in North San Diego County. The programs offered at this location include infant, toddler and primary with options in English or Spanish-immersion. The Head of School is responsible for creating a positive and professional culture on campus for all staff and students, leading/mentoring teachers and administrators, building a strong parent-community, resolving difficult student issues, ensuring the school financial operations are profitable, and ensuring the academic programs at the campus consistently meet the high-standard we set at LePort!

Qualifications

This position requires a positive leader who is committed to the Montessori philosophy, enjoys coaching teachers to continually grow and improve, and has the good judgment and infinite kindness required to work closely with parents. You must also have a flair for business, including the ability to effectively solve practical problems and proactively manage the operational side of running a school.

 

Ideal candidates will possess: 

  • A Bachelor's degree
  • AMI/AMS Montessori diploma (any age group)
  • 5+ years of leadership/management experience
  • Experience in school administration, or other business experience
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • General familiarity and comfort with computers
  • Positive, problem-solving mentality
  • Ability to create a strong, positive culture on campus
  • Experience working in a Montessori environment
  • CA Site Director or necessary experience to complete qualifications 
  • Dedication to creating and sustaining the highest-quality educational environment for each individual child

About LePort Montessori

Our school was founded in 2000 by Dr. LePort, a parent who fell in love with the Montessori Method for his own children. From these humble beginnings, our team has grown to hundreds of like-minded individuals that strive to share Montessori with our community. We have spent almost two decades building, honing and refining program, curriculum, environments and systems. We are committed to providing devoted educators with the support and resources needed to give the gift of the Montessori to current and future generations of LePort students.

Our mission to seek opportunities for growth extends throughout the school team, especially to those that embrace the Montessori philosophy in in practice and spirit. LePort employees are eligible for our Association Montessori Internationale (AMI) sponsorship program and other professional development opportunities. Dozens of our educators have received LePort financial sponsorship to earn their AMI degree and have become Head Teachers and members of our Education, Administration, Operations and Campus Leadership teams.
