WHAT WE'VE GOT GOING ON
Our Pre-Sales Solutions Consultants team is tasked with communicating the value our products can offer in solving the business problems we uncover with our existing and prospective customers. In this role, you will partner with members of our sales team to discover how people can derive value from their data, and work to make data more useful across organizations. Pre-sales consultants work at the intersection of many teams across Looker. You’ll work with Marketing to continually improve how we communicate the value of our data platform to the market. You’ll communicate with Professional Services to ensure our customers get value out of our products as quickly as possible after a sales cycle closes. You’ll team up with Alliances to ensure your prospects have the ideal data stack and technical consulting resources they need to be successful with Looker long-term through our partner ecosystem.
Along the way, you will work with a variety of industries, across many different functions in an organization. This exposure will grow your knowledge of data discovery and analysis. You will also have the opportunity to shape the product and direction of Looker by communicating important feedback to our Product team based on your conversations with customers. This feedback will also inform our Customer Success team’s operations, and help us better support our expanding customer base.
Our Pre-Sales Solutions Consultants work in a highly collaborative environment, where you are encouraged to creatively use all the resources available to you to solve prospects’ problems, and share these inventive solutions across the team. Looker’s collaborative approach means you will be constantly learning, and we encourage you to explore and become an expert in the areas that excite you.
WHAT YOU BRING TO LOOKER
1+ years of experience in a client-facing/solutions consulting role OR in a data analytics or data science role, or some combination of the two
An interest in using and working with data
Experience in creative problem solving
Ability to learn new solutions and product lines and communicate the value of those products
NICE TO HAVES
Proficiency in SQL and/or exposure to business intelligence tools
Experience delivering presentations and demonstrations to business and technical audiences
WHAT WE NEED YOU TO DO
By the end of your first month at Looker, you will have:
-Learned LookML and built confidence using Looker and become proficient in using SQL for data analysis
-Learned about Looker’s sales cycle and customer lifecycle Seen our Looker Values in action
By the end of your third month at Looker, you will have:
-Practiced prospect evaluation scenarios, including learning to give captivating product demonstrations
-Assisted a fully ramped solutions consultant on building out a working Looker prototype for a prospect’s use case
-Started working directly with customers and prospects to build solutions in the Looker product, with the help of your mentor
-Learned about the Looker ecosystem, including our partners and our competitors
By the end of your sixth month at Looker, you will:
-Participate in prospect and customer meetings with your account executive counterpart
-Lead discovery with prospects to understand how Looker’s solutions can provide value and fit into their data ecosystem
-Provide feedback to internal teams on how your prospects and customers are using the product
-Grow familiar with the available resources at Looker and know when to use them
