Job Description:

  • Develop and maintain predictive models to solve complex problems in risk segmentation, reserving, claims, and litigation
  • Use advanced modeling techniques to evaluate historical loss performance for portfolios, identify key performance indicators, predict future loss cost and develop actionable strategies
  • Research on latest modeling techniques and innovative features to improve existing models
  • Clearly and effectively communicate actuarial results to external audiences including senior management
  • Work with operations and product management teams to ensure risk/insurance aware business decisions
  • Pursues professional development in the actuarial profession through rigorous self-study and successful completion of actuarial exams, with advancement toward the ultimate goal of FCAS

Job Requirements

  • Minimum 1+ years of experience in P&C actuarial field (flexible scheduling during exam preparation for ACAS and continuing ed support for FCAS; we want to be part of your career development!)
  • At least 3 CAS exams is required
  • Experience with SQL and Python (or R) is preferred and experience in distributed computing (Spark) is a plus
  • Experience with modeling, pricing or reserving 
  • Personal or commercial auto insurance experience required
  • Advanced quantitative degree in Actuarial Science, Math, Statistics, Economics, or similar
  • Great communication and presentation skills
  • Strong organization and time management skills
  • Balance attention to detail with fast-pace Lyft environment
