Man Crates is looking for a senior full stack Rails engineer to support our website, marketplace integrations, and fulfillment systems. Our team is small on purpose and unique in that it is composed exclusively of senior engineers -- with most having well over seven years of continuous experience in Ruby-on-Rails. Every team member is required to be highly proficient with the full stack, ranging from dev-ops and databases all the way to client-side browser profiling and everything in between. Given the proficiency requirements, you can expect to work on a very wide gamut of systems and projects with your teammates including database performance optimization, new customer features, algorithmic optimization of logistics, and much more.
Many engineering departments have polyglot service oriented architectures deployed across a wide range of hosting needing teams of specialists to keep it all going. We do things differently. Our team keeps things simple on a single Rails 6 modular monolith hosted on Heroku and picks proven tools for the job. Requirements
7+ years of relevant (nearly) continuous
Ruby-on-Rails software development experience
Expert-level understanding of the Rails framework and associated popular gems
Mastery of computer science fundamentals such as software design and databases
Proficiency with dev-ops, bash/zsh, coreutils, and other toolchains used in sys-admin
Proficiency reading, writing, and verbally communicating technical concepts in English
Unbridled work ethic and passion for quality software design and development
Maturity and social tact to address issues/ambiguity directly and kindly
