Duration: Full-Time

Position Overview
MLT is seeking a data analyst and visual storyteller to support the Technology and Analytics Team with external and internal facing dashboards, graphics, and charts that help explain and share both research-based and operational insights. MLT’s mission of greater equity embraces both individual leadership as well as organizational dynamics.  The research team designs and executes studies to support that mission. At the same time, MLT’s broad range of operational programs generate ongoing data streams that help optimize day to day execution but also are important for understanding longer term trends and patterns as well as program efficacy.

MLT is growing rapidly and this role will assist in all aspects of using data to help explain and deliver on MLT’s multi-faceted mission. Key audiences will include both internal and external organizations.  Strong candidates should be comfortable not just creating visualizations but in developing the underlying analysis and story the data tell -- they will not be alone in this effort as MLT has a strong team culture but at the same time, this is a role for someone with breadth as well as depth.

Successful candidates will be experts in designing, building, managing, and sharing data-based visualizations using data from Salesforce, Hubspot, MLT’s website, MLT online products (e.g., MLT’s alumni portal MLTx, MLT Black Equity at Work scorecard, etc), as well as traditional reports and white papers.  The ideal candidate will likely have a history of working with and explaining data ranging from infographics to dynamic interactive online experiences. They will also, in consultation with the tech team, provide access to and training to MLT staff on MLT’s data visualization applications and tools.

The successful candidate will have a passion for data and communicating insights in a visually interesting and appealing way for broad audiences.  This person will also have an understanding with basic statistical techniques and how to derive key insights from large datasets. This position will be based in MLT’s Bethesda, MD headquarters and reports to MLT’s Director of Analytics.

About Management Leadership For Tomorrow

John Rice at CitiAs a Harvard MBA student in the early 1990’s, John Rice began delving into the reasons why there were few other students there who looked like him. He developed a thesis for a nonprofit organization that would provide the training, coaching and networks that traditionally have been unavailable to minorities. In 2002, after a successful career at Disney and the National Basketball Association, John left the private sector to found the organization he first envisioned in business school: Management Leadership for Tomorrow (MLT). Transforming Lives Today, MLT has transformed the careers and life trajectories of more than 6,000 Black, Hispanic and Native American women and men – from college students to seasoned executives. MLT partners with more than 100 leading companies, social sector organizations and universities to strengthen their recruitment and retention of diverse talent. Know-How. Navigation. Network. MLT’s distinctive model provides the know-how, navigation systems and network to ensure talented underrepresented minorities are able to get on and stay on the path to senior leadership. MLT’s Rising Leaders benefit from exceptional coaching, skills training, and a powerful, professional network unlike any other – peers, mentors and senior leaders who share experience, trust and a commitment to helping each other advance. MLT’s experience and expertise are influencing national conversations about opportunity, race, workforce diversity and economic mobility, and proving that these vexing gaps and inequities can be overcome.
