We’re building out a Content Services team at Mendix and we’re looking for a writer to support our vertical agile team and the extended Marketing org with content creation. The Vertical Agile team focuses on the Insurance and Financial Services industries - experience writing marketing copy for one or both of these target industries is ideal, but not required. If you don’t have much experience writing for the tech sector – don’t shy away from applying. If you’re a fast learner with a curious mind, you’ll pick up what we’re throwing down pretty quickly.
You’ll have the chance to draft the full gamut of marketing collateral (eBooks, whitepapers, social copy, email tracks, blogs, web copy) in this role. A solid copywriter will have a digital portfolio that demonstrates variety both in terms of asset type and tone of voice. You don’t have to have drafted multiple examples of every content type listed above, but your samples should prove your depth of experience and versatility. You should be familiar with mapping content to the sales funnel and drafting assets to specific personas. Editing and ghostwriting for subject matter experts would be a part of this role as well.

1. College or graduate degree in English, Journalism, Writing, Communications, Marketing, or Business
2. 4-6 years of relevant experience as a Copywriter, Copyeditor, Content Marketer, Content Manager, or relevant field
3. Portfolio examples demonstrating an ability to draft multiple content types for a wide range of target audiences. A working knowledge of the tech industry with special emphasis on the Enterprise aPaaS/PaaS/SaaS industry is a major advantage, as is a background in B2B marketing, but neither is required.
4. Writing experience in the Financial Services and/or Insurance industries (strongly preferred, not required)
5. Experience ideating, drafting, editing, and publishing content from multiple projects on staggered deadlines.
7. Proven ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
