Do you have a proven track record of scaling a service or a business? Are you comfortable working in the field and in the boardroom? Can you approach projects systemically and are you able to to see the big picture while still paying attention to the details? Are you able to apply a diverse set of methods and tools that illustrate the components and map the touch-points of an experience with subject matter experts and stakeholders? We are looking for a Lead Service Designer who can co-create, synthesize and communicate service concepts across our organizational horizontal and vertical structures and will take the Mendix service experience to the next level in our journey of building the most loved low code platform.
Your work will focus on the Cloud unit's Global Platform program as part of R&D. This unit is responsible for developing and rolling out the end to end platform experience globally. Mendix Cloud is committed to the continuous improvement and expansion of the app deployment options for our customers, and the foundational services that underlie that experience. These range from shared cloud environments on Mendix and SAP Public Cloud to different options of private and managed dedicated environments. In short, we’re excited about making Mendix available for everyone, everywhere.
The objectives of the Global Platform program are in short as follows:
·Scaling the extensive Mendix platform to ensure a consistent, highly reliable and performant global experience.
·Expanding our deployment options to include more regions and a wider range of platforms for customers to choose from.
·Building the Mendix platform for further expansion and utilisation by the wider Siemens organisation.
As a Lead Service Designer, you are responsible for service quality and design processes, with the ultimate goal of creating delightful, user-friendly products and services. You are involved in every service experience related aspect of the Global Platform and produce realistic timelines when defining epics with cross-functional leads, architects and product managers. You lead service experience evaluations and communicate and collaborate well with cross unit stakeholders regarding trade-offs.
You will synthesize and turn user based insights, gaps, and opportunitiesinto differentiating concepts, services, and possible solutions. You seek out the latest trends/thinking and move beyond service design archetypes and tools to create the right deliverables for the job.
You facilitate co-creation workshops with business stakeholders, product managers, architects, developers, product designers, and UX researchers to help teams with strategic complex service design topics and lead them in the right direction in decisions towards the ultimate end to end service experience of the Global Platform.
The Design team is a distributed team across Boston, Pune, Shanghai, and Rotterdam, with many disciplines. From user experience research and service design to brand and product design, the Mendix design team is filled with creatives focused on elevating the user experience across our products. We believe that collaboration across the whole organization is the key to our success and have centralized partnerships with all R&D groups and units.
7+ years of professional experience in a design consultancy or equivalent position
Proven track record of shipped services and products in multiple countries
Demonstrated experience designing and shipping enterprise solutions
Deep expertise in human-centered design and service design
Ability to visualize the service experience through the lens of different alignment diagrams
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, and the ability to challenge others with creative ideas to get the best results
Self-motivated, able to work independently but also collaborative and driven by group critique
Excellent graphic design and typographic skills are a plus
Experience with behavioural measurement frameworks is a plus
An understanding of computational concepts like object oriented programming are a plus
