At the Community & Collaboration unit, we are developing Mendix apps to improve the collaboration between the users in our community. We are doing this by helping developers discover the Mendix Platform (signup.mendix.com), engage them with content (developer.mendixcloud.com), manage their projects (home.mendix.com) and teach them how to build great applications (academy.mendix.com).

As a lead Mendix developer you will be leading the way for multiple teams of the Community & Collaboration unit. On a project basis you will be actively contributing to the output of teams by developing and coaching/educating junior developers.
You will ensure Mendix best practices and guidelines are applied and adopted by the teams. You are a player-coach that is a master in the implementation of the Mendix Platform.

Your main responsibilities:

  • (Co-)Development of apps with our product development teams using the Mendix Platform
  • Educate juniors/mediors on the job by coaching, supporting them and providing them with continuous feedback
  • Increase velocity of the dev teams by continuously focusing on development of the juniors
  • Be involved in complex projects and escalations to lead the way for the teams
  • ​​Align with Talent Acquisition to get the right talent in our Trainee Development program
  • Being a player coach to your peers in the C&C development teams

Desired skills and experience:

  • You are a Mendix lead developer with 5+ years of experience
  • You are a hands-on person that loves to do things together with your team
  • You are experienced in managing complex problems and leading change
  • You have experience in collaborating with people, your understanding of different personality types helps you to be a more successful lead
  • You believe that value is created through people, you know well how to balance between result and people-oriented approach
  • You have a “getting things done” approach with a goal-oriented mindset
