Job Description for Sr UI Engineer/ Sr Full Stack Engineer

Merrill Corporation as an organization is moving very fast in a new direction. This is a very exciting time for the company and has provided amazing opportunity for everyone. We have new leadership working to innovate on everything from the product discovery and delivery to changing the culture and work environment.  The new core platform is a microservices architecture with multiple web/mobile applications built on top. We are leveraging a combination of open source and third party libraries/frameworks such as Eureka(service discovery), MongoDB(NoSQL), Elastic Search(search), Pivotal Cloud Foundry(cloud native), Microsoft Azure(cloud service platform) and many more.

We are looking for top notch engineers to join the core platform UI team. This team will have many opportunities to learn new technology and innovate on the products. This team is building the foundation for the platform and market focused teams. The immediate need is for someone to:

  • Work with UX, designers, product owner and clients to discover the key features needed for the product
  • Follow best practices within the stack and move the code toward a modular UI distributed across multiple applications
  • Deliver a highly scalable and flexible application to be iterated on with our reference customers
  • Collaborate with other scrum teams that are responsible for pieces of the platform and applications

To be successful in this role you must be a quick learner, very familiar with agile practices and software development and enjoy working in cross functional teams.

Skills Needed:

5+ years of relevant experience and a bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent  5+ years of JavaScript development experience - preference given to candidates who have experience building enterprise web applications and building on Restful API’s. Advanced knowledge of JavaScript libraries and frameworks such as Angular2+, React.js Advanced understanding of web markup, including Bootstrap, HTML5 and CSS3 Good understanding of working with Restful API’s Solid understanding of browser rendering behavior and performance Proficiency with UI testing using third party tools e.g. cucumber/capybara, karma, mocha or jasmine, etc… Familiar with UI build tools e.g. gulp, grunt etc… Deep knowledge of Angular/Typescript practices and commonly used modules based on extensive work experience creating self-contained, reusable and testable modules and components Experience with modern version control (GIT), package managers and build systems Familiar with TDD and back end development with Java, NodeJS or another language. Familiar with Continuous Integration(CI) / Continuous Delivery(CD) 

Additional skills that are nice to have:

Product development or large scale web app development Responsive and/or web mobile design Familiar with architectural patterns of a large, high-scale web application (e.g., well-designed APIs, distributed architecture, 12 factor apps Exposure to SaaS based applications and 2 week sprint cadence good to have Exposure in using Cloud Foundry/SpringBoot with a non SQL DB and a Search tool like Elastic good to have.
