Mic, Washington, DC

Mic exists to help young people make sense of a rapidly changing world.

Mic is a diverse news and media company for young people. Our mission is to inform, inspire, and empower our generation to make change happen. Each month, more than 65 million young people rely on Mic to make sense of the world.

Mic is hiring a Washington correspondent to cover the day’s biggest political stories for our rapidly growing, highly engaged audience. We’re looking for someone who can both break news and write with flair. It’s a big opportunity for a journalist who can tell the big story across mediums — the written word, video and podcasting. Top candidates will have a history of doing just that.

Requirements:

  • At least 5 years reporting experience
  • A documented track record of breaking news
  • Ability to quickly develop trusted relationships with key sources
  • Strong, obsessive understanding of and interest in politics
  • A team player able to work seamlessly with far-flung colleagues
  • A deep desire to capture the grand narrative of what’s happening in Washington, without getting distracted by faux-scandals or party spin

About Mic
