As a Creative Director in one of the MF foreign offices, the role requires a high level of autonomy and great communication skills to be able to manage projects and teams remotely.
As a true interface between the Moment Factory team, the client, partners and vendors, they are a figure-head for the company, working hand in hand with the Producer carrying out the studio’s business development strategies. The “foreign office” creative director is responsible for supporting and analysing market strategies in collaboration with the Producers, actively participating in developing partnerships and viable business opportunities in targeted industries to meet the studio’s growth objectives.
They ensure the promotion and faithful representation of the studio, in keeping with its overall objectives.
The international office creative director should possess a good understanding of all the market sectors (units) within the company in order to qualify leads and create good foundations with which to collaborate with unit CDs.
Aside from biz-dev, the international office CD is also required to lead projects when necessary, sometimes assuming both MD / CD roles. The foregin offices can be compared to a Startup and each member of the team will be involved in a wide range of activities with a priority on developing the business and meeting with clients to support projects in production. The regional nature of the work will require frequent travel in the territory as well as to Canada for training and management meetings as well as working across multiple time zones.
Partnership Strategies, Representation, and Networking :
Supports prospection of the territory, contacts current and potential clients, and travels for meetings to secure new sales contracts;
Carries out a close follow up and engages collaboratively with clients;
Knows the political representatives and key actors in the business sectors relating to Moment Factory’s business development in the territory;
Participates in events and develops networks in Moment Factory’s areas of activity.
Participates in selecting and managing partners, vendors and freelancers for regional projects requiring additional resources outside of Moment Factory’s team.
Participates in finding and selecting new employees to grow the studio’s capacity as per the company’s strategy in close collaboration with the HR and Management team;
Contribute to building a solid network of local freelancers;
Participates in the marketing and promotion strategy for the region and provides recommendations based on specific territories in collaboration with Moment Factory communication team.
In the offices with staff, the CD also maintains of the creative standards of everything leaving the office, and assists in leadership of said staff (besoin revoir ceci)
Participate and support the international team’s well being and positive spirit. Collaborate with the management team and HR team to build a healthy and harmonious work environment and ensure a fair, equal and inclusive work ethic.
Creative Direction and proposals
Elaborates creative strategies that are aligned with the client criteria and needs
Writes, conceives, and supervises proposals as wells as presentations to potential and current clients;
Determines Moment Factory’s presentation & negotiations approaches hand in hand with the Producer;
Develop and maintain project’s guidelines, their objectives and priorities;
Lead the Creative team, be a part of developing concepts;
Direct the decision-making process and ensure that all decisions made are in line with Moment Factory’s method, its creative vision, its branding and processes;
Understand the mid and long-term strategic business objectives of the company in order to execute the decision-making process accordingly;
Be a part of the information flow within various departments in regards to the project;
Ensure quality control within various departments in regards to the project;
Ensure that budget and timeline of projects are respected, closely with the Producer and Director;
Find solutions to all unexpected issues faced with during the creative process, production and delivery, along with other members of the creative team;
Be part of the meeting with the creative team during concepts development, design as well as on site integration (or any other location indicated by the Producer), in line with the established timeline;
Inspire Moment Factory creative team and act as a mentor to them;
Encourage and guide business research and development;
Be a part of the hiring process.
Over 10 years of experience as Creative Director, including a combination of positions such as Artistic Director in the multimedia field, visual effects, dance, theatre, circus or any other relevant field of expertise;
Proven Experience working with local clients and audiences is a must;
Experience in casting and coaching to artists;
Strong knowledge of Google Tools, Keynote and ADOBE creative suite;
Understanding of design, 3D design and/or a video editing software, an asset;
Good knowledge of multimedia technology;
Knowledge of architecture & scenography, a great asset;
Proven abilities to simultaneously manage many projects, working under pressure and be part of a team.
