Senior Product Manager, Engagement

As Senior Product Manager, Engagement at MyFitnessPal, your job will be to retain new users by whatever means are necessary. It will be up to you to come up with the strategy but we think it will involve nudging our users, helping them form new habits, keeping in touch with them, personalizing the content and messaging they receive based on everything we know about them, helping them form social connections, just to name a few ideas. This role will report to the Senior Director of Product.
Job Responsibilities:
- In partnership with cross-functional stakeholders, this role will work to help define, size, and execute a product strategy designed to retain and engage new MyFitnessPal users.
- Deeply understand our new customer and user segment, meeting regularly with target market audiences to refine product strategy and find product/market fit.
- Work in partnership with the Content & Product Marketing team to own and enable personalization through various marketing platforms - including mobile engagement tools.
- With the MFP engineering and product and design teams, build a team that can successfully deliver on the product vision and help to hire the required engineering, design, and editorial teammates who will focus on engagement.
- Work hand-in-hand with the PM of Growth to ensure that newly acquired users continue to have a consistent and robust user journey post-acquisition.
- Partner with product analytics and data science on metrics and models related to churn prevention.
- Serve as a thought leader for the rest of MyFitnessPal Product team; incorporate our engagement product strategy into our broader product vision and ensure alignment across our platform.
Requirements:
- At least 4 years of overall experience as a PM or Senior PM, with a clear record of successful delivery and impact in collaboration with an engineering team.
- Product management experience for a mobile digital consumer product at large scale.
- Deep understanding of consumer mobile apps with large scale audiences.
- Very strong critical thinking and analysis skills with ability to take an ambiguous problem, use data-informed brainstorming, identify goals and clear metrics, and drive a team to deliver on those goals.
- Good user instincts - experience working with design, user research, running experiments, and iterating on ideas to benefit end users. Some experience with direct-to-consumer products is a plus.
