Accounting Assistant

National Funding, a stable, fast-growing fintech company in the UTC area, has a great opportunity for an Accountant Assistant to join our enthusiastic team.The Accounting Assistant is responsible for specific areas relating to financial loan/lease transactions and auditing. This position will be responsible for ensuring loan/lease transaction information is accurate and entered in a timely fashion. The role will be required to manage numerous sources of documentation and consistently interact with multiple software applications. The Accounting Assistant will report and work closely with the organization’s Accounting Supervisor while also supporting accounting and operational team members. This position will need to adhere to tight deadlines, which may occasionally require overtime. 

Major Responsibilities:

  • Audit and enter loan & lease information into multiple software applications
  • Generate reports and other sensitive information for both internal and external users
  • Coordinate with team members on specific loan & lease-related tasks
  • Transmit daily loan & lease ACH and/or wires
  • Provide administrative assistance when necessary to help ensure a clean and timely month end close
  • Collaborate with Accounting Supervisor and team members to support overall department goals and objectives
  • Support Accounting Supervisor with projects on an as-needed basis
  • Maintain regulatory compliance through quarterly web-based training
  • Others duties as assigned

The Ideal Candidate

  • Minimum two years of experience in an office environment
  • Strong attention to detail and accurate with data entry and transaction processing
  • Ability to accurately review, analyze, and verify data in a timely fashion
  • Must be able to effectively manage and maintain electronic documents ensuring confidentiality
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office products
  • Seeking a degree in Accounting, Business, or other finance related discipline a plus

Physical Demands 

  • Working in a temperature controlled office environment
  • Sitting at a desk for long periods of time while viewing multiple computer screen monitors
  • Potential lifting of boxes around 25lbs
  • Occasional overtime
