Summary:

DreamWorks Animation is looking for a passionate senior machine learning engineer to join our R&D team in researching and integrating ML solutions into our animated film pipeline. Our focus is to continue to deliver breathtaking images while leveraging the latest advances in machine learning. We’ve been creating movie magic for over 25 years and we’d love to have you join us. Responsibilities include:

  • Research and develop machine learning solutions and services for the studio

  • Mentor and educate software engineers on how to use machine learning in their software

  • Consult with R&D and production groups on potential ML solutions in their areas

  • implement production tools to help generate training data for current and future shows



● Broad understanding of ML research around modeling, animation, rendering, compositing, etc
● Extensive experience in python or C++
● Strong sense of ownership and accountability
● Ability to deliver robust and scalable code 
● Excellent communication skills
● Experience using deep learning frameworks (e.g. TensorFlow, PyTorch, …)
● Undergraduate degree in Computer Science

● A solid understanding of a production pipeline and the workflows
● Experience in problem-solving and balancing quick turnaround with long-term quality
● Familiarity with Linux systems
● Experience with Docker or Kubernetes
● Masters or Ph.D. in Computer Science or related field
