Join a team that is evolving NBCU’s critically important digital ad tech stack to monetize NBCU’s billion-dollar digital advertising portfolio. We solution new streaming video ad products and ensure they execute flawlessly when delivered to users. We guarantee optimal end-user video experiences across all of NBCU’s desktop, mobile, over-the-top and set-top-box products. We constantly innovate and discover new ways to optimize our overall stack by architecting/implementing new tools, systems and/or processes to help manage and grow NBCU’s digital business. We ideate, invent and implement patented solutions to solve technical, business, sales and user pain points. We're looking for strong, motivated technologists to help us take our products to the next level!

Responsibilities:
The Ad Integration and Architecture (AIA) team is looking for an engineer to serve as the primary technical expert for our iOS/tvOS ad tech squad. As the sole engineer on the iOS/tvOS squad, you will work closely with product owners, brand engineering and QA teams to ensure that ad integration projects on iOS/tvOS endpoints are well executed and meet the high standards of NBCU. You will leverage your previous experience as an iOS/tvOS systems integrator to provide guidance, champion best practices and anticipate/solve complex technical integration issues.
In this role, you will also:
  • Lead video integration activities on NBCU iOS/tvOS products on the following devices: iPhone, iPad and AppleTV.
  • Work with ad product and central/brand tech teams to influence app and video player design
  • Solution new advertising features and products on iOS/tvOS endpoints
  • Understand the complexities and inherent limitations of the ad technology ecosystem and the iOS/tvOS operating systems
  • Bridge the gap between ad product and QA; assist in crafting test cases to ensure full coverage of product requirements
  • Keep up-to-date with iOS, tvOS and AppleTV roadmaps to ensure NBCU is well-prepared for future releases


●BS degree in Computer Science or similar technical field of study
●Advanced understanding of internet technologies like the HTTP protocol, CDNs, CMSs, etc.
●Adept at ingratiating iOS applications with 3rd party services and sdks
●Familiarity with troubleshooting technical issues, running Charles sessions, evaluating internet traffic and event triggers
●Basic understanding of the capabilities and limitations of Apple’s media frameworks (AVKit and AVFoundation)

●Intermediate knowledge of streaming media technologies including video players, ABR streaming techniques and ad serving technologies
●Previous experience building iOS or tvOS applications in Swift or Objective-C
●Familiarity serving or integrating video ads using Freewheel MRM nice to have
●Previous track record of owning projects end-to-end with minimal supervision and guidance
