Level: Manager (Supervisor)

NBCUniversal’s Enterprise Product Team builds products that provide essential capabilities to organizations throughout NBCUniversal. The team leverages deep relationships with our business engagement and engineering counterparts to build cohesive, end to end solutions for their clients or users. The product portfolio is aligned around critical NBCU functions such as Content/Title Management, Data & Analytics, Scheduling & Distribution, and Content Sales.

As a part of the Content Management Product team, the Manager, Product will serve as an expert on all products within your designated focus area. You will lead a group of product owners and specialists and guide this team to develop cross functional design and build of any current or new products within this space. You will execute on a strategic vision for your area and be a thoughtful and experienced leader, who is responsible for defining and prioritizing requirements and who can communicate our business partners strategic vision into a planned product roadmap. You will participate in large initiatives and SWAT teams that tackle major problems within the organization evolving into larger, more complex projects and initiatives.

Essential Responsibilities
  • Define and manage Content Management products and services such as Master & Metadata Management, Machine Learning Title Matching, Enterprise Search, and Content Discovery
  • Define and maintain product roadmaps and product integration strategy balancing internal requirements with client requests/priorities
  • Build highly reliable, available, scalable, and performant data products, and continuously measure and monitor KPIs to drive improvement
  • Collaborate with system architects and project managers to scope each development sprint, track progress, and work through development hurdles to deliver great products on time and within scope
  • Engage with multiple clients/business units/internal stakeholders to understand their requirements and translate them into product features and capabilities for internal development by our engineering partners
  • Provide consistent communication back to clients and stakeholders on development progress and product delivery timelines as well as conduct feature roadmap overviews periodically
  • Leverage Agile methodologies to ensure an iterative and incremental approach to building out destination platforms, and partner with engineering and technology leaders to drive overall software development lifecycle
  • Responsible for guiding team members, setting strategy and product deliverables and monitoring progress toward those goals
  • Manage team of product owners/specialists; lead recruiting, hiring, and training of new employees

Basic Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Software Development, Product Management or equivalent experience required
  • Minimum 3-year experience in a role demonstrating strong technical, quantitative, and analytical skills
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in a role exhibiting excellent written and oral communications, effective interpersonal skills, project management, and strong formal presentation abilities
  • Expertise in the SDLC process, with a focus on scoping, iteration planning, user story and acceptance criteria writing, rollout management

  • Must be 18 years or older

  • 2-4 years product management experience, gathering client requirements, writing product and/or technical specifications, working with development teams, and managing product roadmaps as well as launches
  • At least 3 years of direct client engagement experience
  • Experience in Television/Broadcast, Media, Technology, or related field
  • Experience with automated QC products/workflows
  • Experience with Agile methodology
  • Experience with using Jira or a similar system to track and maintain feature requirements and development progress
  • Experience managing a team preferred
